The Building
The building of the SANTABARBARA HOSPITAL was built in 1966 as an integral part of the Macchitella neighborhood and is located a few meters from the Gela beach.
In the last decade the facility has been completely renovated, modernized e refunctionalized to increase the comfort standards of spaces for patients, staff and the public.
The entire facility of the SANTABARBARA HOSPITAL, infrastructure and services have been built in full compliance with current health and safety legislation.
The SANTABARBARA HOSPITAL can count on the provision of 45 inpatient rooms, each of which houses 2 beds, plus another 8 single rooms with a bed available to a family member or caregiver, and one intended for isolation in case of contagious diseases.
The size of the rooms, an average of 24 square meters, provides 12 square meters of space per bed; natural lighting is provided by windows, balconies, stained glass windows and terraces facing the outdoors.
All rooms are equipped with a bathroom with shower, air conditioning, and television.
To take advantage of the rooms with greater hotel comfort (MCA) an economic supplement must be paid, the amount of which can be found on the rate card that can be consulted at the reception office.

On the ground floor, there is an externally operated bar that observes the following hours: – Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 15:00; – there is a vending machine (drinks, snacks and coffee) in the lobby; – on Saturdays and Sundays, the service does not operate.
Religious assistance
Non-self-sufficient patients can receive individual and non-self-sufficient religious assistance by contacting the facility’s religious officer directly or requesting it from the head of the hall on duty.
There is also free access to the center for ministers of religion other than Catholic.
Kitchen
Nutrition, at the SANTABARBARA HOSPITAL, is part of the care of patients and their caregivers.
The diets follow the guidelines given by a specialized nutritionist Dr. Antonio Sedita, and the preparation, carried out within the facility, includes personalized menus, special diets for particular clinical conditions, and a rich menu for companions who can consume it either in their rooms or at the dining room dedicated to them.

Free parking is available for inpatients and their relatives.
