Diagnostics

Diagnostic services consist of two sections:
the Diagnostic Imaging and the Analytical Laboratory.

L’Diagnostic Imaging Area operates both under an agreement with the National Health System (SSN) as well as under private arrangements.
Our facility is, in addition, equipped with an MRI Area, a CT Area and an Ultrasound Diagnostic Area.

Magnetic Resonance Area

The magnetic resonance imaging, in the field of diagnostic imaging, is a multiparametric, noninvasive technique that allows the acquisition of high-definition images of different anatomical structures and the differentiation of different tissues.
Our facility features:

N.1
1.5 TESLA RM

Thanks to the 1.5 Tesla high-field magnet multiple pathologies can be studied and diagnosed accurately.
The 1.5 Tesla MRI system takes advantage of digital technology and is characterized by high image quality.
The state-of-the-art machines attenuate artifacts given by the natural motion of the human body, limiting the risk of having to repeat an examination sequence.
The absence of ionizing radiation also makes it particularly suitable for repeat examinations at short time intervals.

The type of examinations that can be performed covers all anatomical areas, including advanced examinations in neurological, articular, and oncological areas, such as:

Arterial and venous MR angiography of the intracranial circulation

Colangio RM

Abdomen and Pelvic MRI

MRI Vertebral Canal

Brain MRI (brain and brainstem)

Musculoskeletal MRI

Multiparametric Prostatic MRI

N.1
0.5 TESLA OPEN RM

La Open MRI is a specific type of MRI characterized by a machine that provides a larger and more comfortable space in which to place the patient.
Compared to the traditional machine, which consists of a cylindrical structure inside which the couch on which the patient is placed slides, the open MRI has a “C” shape that allows claustrophobic people to reduce the feeling of suffocation, and smaller patients to have a supportive adult figure nearby.
The type of examinations examinations that can be performed concerns in particular:

MRI musculoskeletal system

Spinal column

CT Area – Computed Tomography

The facility comes with a TC AQUILION Canon 80-layer.

Traditional Radiology Diagnostic Area

The facility is equipped with a GE SENOGRAPHE DS mammograph and a densitometer Hologic Horizon Wi MOC (bone densitometry).

Diagnostic ultrasound area

The facility is equipped with an ultrasound scanner GE LOGIQ S7 EXPERT.

Clinical Analysis Laboratory

The Clinical Analysis Laboratory of SANTABARBARA HOSPITAL specializes in hematology, microbiological clinical chemistry and seroimmunology.
It relies on the cooperation of the facility’s medical and nursing staff for sampling activities and services of medical relevance.

The information system, through the special management system that interfaces with the medical record, enables digital management of data, such as patient registry, specimen acceptance, reporting, and archiving of results.
