Knee Arthroscopy Surgery Reports (Volumes and Outcomes): PNE Data 2024 – SantaBarbara Hospital

April 24, 2025

Analyzing the reports for knee arthroscopy surgeries taken from the latest 2024 edition of the National Outcomes Program (PNE) of AGENAS (National Agency for Regional Health Services), with reference to data related to thecare activity provided in the year 2023, we note an increasing volume of hospitalizations in recent years , which is above the treemap threshold of 80 cases from 2021 to 2023.

Conducted annually, the program collects and analyzes, as it is now known, data on health care delivery in order to provide comparative assessments of the effectiveness, safety, appropriateness and quality of care delivered nationwide.

As we can see from the chart below, SantaBarbara Hospital ranks well ahead in Sicily in terms of volume of admissions for knee arthroscopy procedures. This is a very important result that makes us proud and satisfied with the work of our entire Orthopedics Department.

In support of the latter data, our facility also ranks among the only 7 in Sicily that have ADJ data for the indicator referring to knee arthroscopy with reintervention within 6 months; among these, in particular, SantaBarbara Hospital is among the top three with a reintervention rate of zero.

These figures are also a further and very important confirmation of the quality and safety of the care provided by our facility each year, as well as theconstant commitment of our team of specialists and experienced staff.

Aiming at the constant improvement of these data trends for surgeries performed in our Orthopedic Department, but also for all other specialties in our facility, we feel the desire to once again thank all our patients who from year to year continue to choose us, relying on our care.
